RIGHT PAST MY FIRST LIFE…
VIRTUAL COMEDY…
Yesterday I performed a short set in front of my first International Audience. Folks from across the world sitting in a comedy club and watching (and might I humbly add, applauding!) me. One woman in the audience had breasts larger than my torso. A man had a wolf’s head and tail. Four people sat upside down on the ceiling. One of them dropped an anvil on me half way through my set.
Welcome to Second Life. A virtual universe with millions of inhabitants, most of them having freaky furry sex in dungeons. SL isn’t just about animated penis’ (penii?) attacking your cat-headed form. It’s also got real-estate development, an economy, art exhibitions, live concerts and Stand-up Comedy.
Yesterday morning, I sat in my pajamas, with my laptop open and a mic-headset on and performed for a live audience who heckled and cheered me on. My avatar stood on a virtual stage and I was gifted virtual cash. but most importantly I was invited back to perform on a regular basis and have finallytested my material in front of an audience of non-Pakistanis.
So if you are in SL, come on down to The Last Laugh and watch my show. My in-world name is “Orionalation Carver” (don’t ask). Send me an IM and you can come throw anvils at my head.
In the Real World, meanwhile, something huge coming up for me comedy-wise. Lots of shows. Lots of touring. Details soonish. First papers need to be signed and dates confirmed.
